It took 22 years to create the person I am today. Within these years, I have been given the freedom to explore the world in order to satisfy my curiosity towards all strange and wonderful things in the world around me.
My name is Mira Nadia Mazelan. I was born on 8th October. I’m from Subang Jaya, Selangor. During my childhood, I grew up in Terendak Camp, Malacca. I applied for science stream in my secondary school and went to one of the best schools in Malaysia which is MRSM Jasin. I used to really hate that place at first but after a few months I started to enjoy my life there. This is the place where I met my best friend, Wahidah. I obtained 7A’s for my SPM. I continued my study in Multimedia University, Malacca. Then, I quit and now I’m pursuing my degree in Bachelor of Science (Architecture) under the UiTM programme.
I grew up in a healthy family. My father, Mazelan Kasap is an army officer. Currently he is the Chief of Staff in Army Headquarters, Kuala Lumpur. He is a soft-spoken and a dedicated father. Even though he’s very busy, he will allocate his time to spend with his kids. Sometimes he brings us to his meetings and this would be wonderful for me to learn something new. Since he had a stable career, he always provides us with more opportunities to learn what we desired to. He didn’t mind to spend his money to fulfil our wishes. I’m very grateful having a father like him.
My mother’s name is Norhayati bt Mohd Nasir. She was born on 1960. She passed away on 31st March 2003 at the age of 43 due to cervical cancer. It’s such a great pain for me when she passed away. A day before she passed away I visited her. Before I go back, I talked to her. I told her that I felt so sad to leave her. She told me don’t worry about her condition, she’s fine and everything will be ok. The next day, early in the morning, my father’s driver came to my school and picked me up. I thought that he’s going to bring me to visit my mom at the hospital but I was wrong. He brought me to the mosque. Then only I knew my beloved mom is gone. It’s such a great pain for me when she passed away. I lost someone I that I really love, who always listened to my problems. I took a long time to gain back my spirit. My academic result was not as good as before. For me, my mom is a very kind-hearted person. She’s down to earth. She will help anyone no matter who they are. I’m very lucky kid having such a good person being my mom.
I have an elder sister and a younger sister. Both of them made my childhood day more colourful. My elder sister, Natasha works as a programmer in Cyberjaya. She graduated from Multimedia University. We are very close to each other. She’s getting married soon. I’m happy for you sister! My younger sister is Nabila. She is still studying in MRSM Terendak, Malacca. She’s the baby in the family. She wants to be a surgeon. I hope she will achieve her ambition.
During my free time, I love to do online shopping. In fact, I’m addicted to it after it was being introduced by my cousin, Alisha. Other than that my hobby is baking cakes and travelling. I love in-line skating too!!

A year ago architecture is a new thing in my life. I never thought one day I’ll be doing architecture. Since I was a small kid, I wanted to be a dentist. At first, architecture is pressuring especially for people like me who didn’t have any basic in art. What I’ve heard is architecture is basically about drawing and designing. I know I’m not a good painter. I like drawing plans and stuff, but I’m just not really that great at transferring what I see in front of me (a landscape/ a still life) to paper.
After a year, I found out that architecture is interesting. It is not only about designing and constructing buildings but architecture is the art and science of designing and constructing buildings and other physical structures for human shelter or use. A wider definition often includes the design of the total built environment, from the macro level of a building that integrates with its surrounding context to the micro level of architecture or construction details and sometimes, furniture and hardware. Wider still, architecture is the activity of designing any kind of system.
Do you agree???
